NC316x - Fiber Driver Chassis
The Fiber Driver® product line includes one-, two-, three-, four- and sixteen-slot chassis for deploying and managing Fiber Driver media modules.

The three-slot (NC316BU-3), four-slot (NC316BU-4), sixteen-slot (NC316BU-16) and sixteen-slot Telco (NC316BU-16T) chassis can be equipped with redundant, hot-swappable AC or DC internal power supplies. The two-slot NC316BU-2 and one-slot NC316BU-1 come with a single AC or DC internal power supply. The Triple Redundancy 16-slot chassis can be configured with dual DC power supplies.

The NC316BU-1HP is designed to accommodate modules such as the Fiber Driver Single Fiber converters that require higher power and greater heat dissipation than is available in the standard one-slot chassis. For fully passive solutions like the Fiber Driver Splitter/Combiner module there is the non-powered NC316BU-1/NP one-slot chassis, and the NC316BU4PMC/NP four-slot chassis.

The two-, three-, four- and sixteen-slot chassis can accommodate a Network Management (EM316NM) module, which provides for the monitoring of system temperature, fan status, and power supply status. These chassis also support management cascading, which allows two chassis to be connected together and managed by a single EM316NM.

The NC316BU-4 and NC316BU-16 are 19" rack mountable. The NC316BU-3 and NC316BU-16T, having reduced depth form factors and utilizing front-loaded power supplies, are designed for Telco installations. Both can be mounted in 23" racks. The NC316BU-3 can also be mounted in 19" racks.

The one-slot chassis are suitable for use in standalone, unmanaged applications. The NC316BU-2 is designed for single-module managed and two-module unmanaged standalone applications.

The Triple Redundancy 16-slot chassis is designed with a triple segment backplane (6 slots, 6 slots, and 5 slots), each operating independently of the other. Like the standard 16-slot chassis, the Triple Redundancy mounts in a 19” rack.
