Console servers
 Console servers have been developed to provide a way for users to access many serial devices from one centralized location. The console servers terminate all the serial connections from each of the nodes in the cluster, and provide Console-servers access to each cluster node. Console servers include a network connection through which the users can connect to remote servers and also to a node for communication through a telnet or SSH connection.

 Secure Console servers and FIPS Console servers
 The In-Reach LX Console Servers provide ironclad secure access to system, server and network device serial consoles, enabling real-time visibility of remote system devices, and network health. MRV's In-Reach LX Console Servers support FIPS140-2 security standard. The operation of the In-Reach LX Console Servers is visibly impacted by supporting FIPS140-2. Less secure features, protocols, and encryption support are disabled, while higher encryption options are set. AES encryption is used for all FIPS secure Console Servers Graphical User Interface (GUI) connections and the LX Series Clustering-features.
