Specialty Patch Cables
MRV provides a wide range of fiber optic patch cables designed for use with pluggable optics. These specialty patch cables provide passive optical functionality, including splitter/combiner, mux/demux and add/drop capabilities. Together with any of our fixed-form or pluggable optics products, these cables present an extremely simple way to build your own fiber optic network, whether you need single-fiber or wave division multiplexing capabilities. CWDM Optical Add/Drop Patch CableSimplified CWDM Solution The Plug-In Optical Add-Drop Multiplexer from MRV provides the simplest CWDM solution on the market. Together with MRV's Colored GBIC Modules, the Plug-In OADM cable provides complete solution for CWDM Networks. Simply plug the GBIC modules into any network switch or router (or transponder module), and interconnect via the OADM cables. With no further effort, a full CWDM system is achieved. This revolutionary new approach to CWDM allows, for simple configurations, the most cost effective solution for wave division multiplexing technology.
EM316PAMULC, EM316WP, PAWLCSC - Passive Mux/Demux;2-, 4- and 8-channel modules, and 2-channel cables The Fiber Driver Passive Mux/Demux modules and cables deliver the benefits of a Wave Division Multiplexer in a fully passive solution. With matching units placed at each end of an optical link, up to 16 Full Duplex data channels can be combined and transmitted over a Single Mode fiber trunk. Using the Mode Conditioning module 4 data channels can be multiplexed over a single Multimode fiber link to a distance of up to 1 km, and 8 channels can be transmitted up to 500 m.
Protocol and topology independent, the operation of the Passive Mux/Demux remains transparent to both the network and the end user. With plug-n-play setup and a design that minimizes budget loss, it can readily and seamlessly be integrated into an existing environment. The unit's small form factor and no requirement for power means it can be placed virtually anywhere.
The direct benefit of a Fiber Driver Passive Mux/Demux is its ability to maximize the utilization of existing fiber plant at a fraction of the time and expense of installing additional fiber. It increases network capacity while allowing for greater deployment flexibility as data channels can be added or changed as needed.

EM316SC & PASCLCAS - Splitter/Combiner Splitter/Combiner technology provides the ability to propagate two signals, transmit (TX) and receive (RX), over a single fiber strand using the same wavelength. The Fiber Driver® Splitter/Combiner modules, and Splitter/Combiner cables for GBICs and SFPs effectively double the availability of fiber in a network. They are fully passive devices that operate at a specific wavelength, and remain protocol and network transparent.
A pair of Splitter/Combiners add a power loss of only up to 7 dB for SM and MM fiber. Angled Polished Connectors (APCs) are used at the link connections to eliminate reflections.
